Washington Energy Committee Minutes April 7, 2016
Present: Andrew Hatch and Johanna Young, Al Krygeris came at the end
Old Business:
Updates on Dunbarton Weatherization Committee collaboration:
Andrew reported that Dunbarton uses their infrared camera when itŐs 32 or below. Andrew has been back in touch with the group. He would like to see the image file for the camera. He wants to review his visit to the GibsonŐs during which he used the infrared camera.
Andrew gave Mr. Gibson a copy of the results on a CD. The findings have helped him to set priorities and he will do some retrofits on his own near leaky doorways and windows etc... This was a test case for the WEC and use of the camera. Mr. Gibson has now bought internal storms on the windows and used a company in Weare. Storms cost $70 per window.
The Dunbarton group said they would be happy to meet with Andrew after their energy fair for which they are gearing up now.
Legislative Updates:
The Net-metering bill was on the docket at the State legislature today. 35% of monies generated would go to cover energy efficiency projects for low income residents. There would be 5 million available for municipal and school projects for 2017. Stay tuned!
Updates on Town Garage and Lighting:
Ed would like help with an electric retrofit for the Town Garage. He had gotten an audit and quote of $4,810 for the retrofit and found out that Eversource would only pay $850 of that. He is going to look into a different company.
Other:
There will be a three hour Planning Board get together with other boards to talk about the future. There is talk about energy audits for all the buildings. PB feels itŐs important to make sure the Master Plan is used as a guide for future plans for the town.
Meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
Respectfully submitted by,
Johanna Young
