DRAFT

June 2011 Minutes

Washington Energy Committee

Present: Al Krygeris, Bob Fraser, Johanna Young and Lindley Rankine

Visitors: Nan Schwartz and Michael McCrory

Michael McCrory, Senior Planner Upper Valley Lake Sunapee RPC, was invited to attend the meeting to let us know what technical resources are available to us through the Michael McCrory Senior Planner, Upper Valley Lake Sunapee RPCARRA Energy grant for technical assistance program. Funds are available for energy related projects for municipal buildings.

There is an on-line inventory tool available that is better than portfolio manager. There is a webinar available for training. Al said he would be happy to login to the in new database and enter data. Michael says he has forms for us to sign and would need the selectmen's signature.

We talked about getting funding to do additional energy audits. Also discussed looking at our ordinances in terms of energy policy.

Some buildings that need energy assessments include: Camp Morgan, Town Garage (for alternative heat source), Library, two firehouses and the School House.

Michael said that when building assessments are done, they find the weak point and then go after. For any retrofits that need to be made, money could be sought through a warrant article.

Al said he would approach the School Board about an energy assessment for the school.

Al will forward copies of the MEAP report to Michael.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

Respectfully submitted by,

Johanna Young, Secretary Pro Temps
