Conservation
Commission – Land Protection Committee
January 6, 2010 8:30AM Town Hall
Attending: Carol Andrews, Sandy Robinson, Jed Schwartz, Nan Schwartz
We discussed 2 permits that were in the CC mailbox. A shoreland and a wetlands permit for Kimball on Millen Pond. We will be commenting on the wetlands permit and Sandy will begin to draft a letter. Sandy said the appraisers are busy but she will talk to them and see if they can fit us in soon. It is still a go on the Eccardt Farm woodland. Jed talked to Hans about doing a low level appraisal on the whole farm to give them the information they need to make decisions about easements.
We went into non-public session to discuss two other properties.
We discussed fundraising and taking pledges for certain projects. We discussed meeting with Brian Hotz about strategies for fundraising.
We discussed perhaps presenting something at Town Meeting about local easement projects.

Nan to look for any existing surveys for the Eccardt land.
Sandy made a motion to spend $3500 for the summary appraisal of the Eccardt woodland and $2250 for a restricted appraisal on the entire farm. Carol seconded, all voted in favor. This will come out of the money that the CC voted to spend on the project. The appraiser is coming to the farm on January 27th at 10AM and will tour with George and Brian Hotz, Jed and Sandy will try to join them.
We went into non-public session to discuss property issues.
We need to research all the grant programs available including trail grants. Sandy will talk to Tom Marshall about snowmobile trails.
