Conservation Commission – Land Protection Committee

February 3, 2010         8:30AM          Town Hall

Attending: Carol Andrews, Sandy Robinson, Jed Schwartz, Nan Schwartz

We discussed a snowmobile trail issue on Island Pond.

Sandy reported she is meeting with Sandy Eccard about the deeds this afternoon, the reported acres are not quite matching up on the deeds and the tax maps. She mentioned we may not have to have to survey the wooded piece.

Carol had talked to Brian Hotz and he was looking for flood plain maps. We will give him the NRI maps as they could be helpful. He is going to build a budget and go to the Forest Society to talk to them this month. He will also sit down with them to talk about what lots they might want to hold out for building.

Sandy is pulling together information on the farm to use for fundraising in the future.

We discussed grant applications and what else is available. Carol wants to make sure we map all the supporting land that the Eccards use but are not owned by them, such as hay fields. She feels that it would be good to get long term agreements for this land use and she could help them with this if they want that. She will get some information from the NH Department of Ag.

We went into non-public session to discuss two other properties.

Jed reported that Sandy met with the Sandy Eccard and Brian Hotz and shared the flood plain map and NRI maps with him and the appraisers. He didn't have too much more information on that. Carol mentioned that they are using Jeff Jones as forester is working with the Eccards to come up with a forestry plan for their wooded piece.

Nan mentioned that the Selectmen's minutes had a mention about the Johnson property adjacent to the Eccards property. She will ask Michelle about it and find more information.

We went into non-public session to discuss property issues.

We talked a little about wetlands permits.
