Conservation Commission – Land Protection Committee

We discussed the Farnsworth Hill project. The Millen Pond group was successful in getting the MLA to agree to a matching $25,000. if they can raise this amount before closing. There is some question about the public meeting they had and may have to hold another. We discussed doing some quiet fundraising on our own to help with the match. We will not do a public fundraiser that might compete with what is being done by Millen Pond and Forest Society. We were asked about how much we contributed to the Eccardt Farm project. We discussed the numbers and will provide them. Carol will speak to Brian (SPNHF) to see how things are going on their end. We decided that we can help with a poster and Nan will make one up. Some of us can meet with Jim and John to see how we can help or come up with ideas for them. We discussed the need for a public hearing for the $20,000 we are contributing for transaction fees.
